From Fear to Faith

In today's scripture passages, we see Jesus having an encounter with the Jewish leaders by questioning him about by whose authority he has been performing his works. They aren't asking because they want to learn, they want to trap Jesus. Why would they want to do that?

The answer is that they are fearful. They are fearful that Jesus is who he says he is - God's chosen Savior - but they don't want to entertain this idea because it would mean losing control and power. So they choose to ignore the truth over having faith in Jesus. Are there times when you do the same thing? Choose fear over faith?
